When designing this modern style new construction house the builder wanted the home to feel warm and inviting while referencing a timeless Mid Century Modern design.

We wanted the two story foyer to be dramatic, so we painted it very dark and used a large brass modern light.

Kitchen we incorporated flat panel walnut/white acrylic cabinets. Pure white quartz, floating shelves, matte black faucet and cabinet hardware, and stainless steel appliances. We set the tile vertically for an interesting spin on a classic style of tile and used charcoal grout for some contrast.

Using a classic Nelson saucer pendant for the dining space assisted in creating a classic Mid Century Modern quality, and it especially tied in the slatted wood divider wall.

We are not afraid to mix wood tones!

Since the home did not have an indoor fireplace we splurged a little on an outdoor fire table so that the buyer would have a nice outdoor patio space off the main living area with fire as an element. Along with their covered outdoor living space off the second level.

Outdoor Fireplace: Elementi Granville Fire Table

Originally built in 1916 this home always had an impressive view with a stately feel to it. We wanted a blend of modern, along with history & custom crafted design. The floor plan was very closed off and compartmentalized and we wanted it to encourage parties & entertainment along with showcasing the unobstructed lake, mountain & city views.

One of our first design decisions was to do the house in a dark tone with copper gutters. After painting several houses white we are excited for a change. When the house was painted and the gutters installed we were thrilled with the results.

The kitchen was moved from the front of the house to the back of the house to have better flow to the outdoor living space and capture the views. The kitchen features black shaker cabinets, waterfall butcher block island with veggie sink, quartz countertops, custom stove hood with pot filler, floating shelves, stainless steel appliances and Hick pendants.

Nano Wall Doors

Modernizing with Nano wall doors to connect the outdoor space with the interior.

Classic Staircase

The staircase in the house was so classic that a lot of time was spent restoring it to keep the period details in place.

The Master suite also has sweeping views, we made the ensuite feature a lavish soaking tub,  large walk in shower, double vanity with Rejuventaion mirrors, and added some carpentry details to the vaulted ceiling.

Wine Room
Kitchenette with Chevron Brick

The wine room we used brick tile and had them be set chevron style. For the backsplash we found a cork penny tile that we thought would be fun for the wine theme.

We continued the chevron brick into the basements kitchenette.

With a combination of wood tones throughout, black and brass fixtures and designer lighting our goal was to achieve a home with transitional style that leaned towards an Art Deco vibe.
